Aug 1, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

We all need a reset. Someone to push ctrl-alt-delete for us our we push it ourselves. What’s a reset? A reset is a recommitment. Recommitment to the goals that got us started in the first place.

My Favorite Recovery Tools

May 30, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

Who enjoys spending money on things that don't work? Not me! I can assume that you also don't enjoy that, but there are a TON of products out in the world and there are a TON of brands out there selling similar things. This makes it difficult to know what is actually going to work and if the brand is a good one. I have spent a lot of time trying different products out and I have found some things that just work really well and are worth the money and time you put into using them.

Authenticity

May 23, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

I feel like I've always chased my authentic self. "Who am I?" is a question we all ask ourselves. From my time in the Air Force, my time as a strength coach, my time as a single guy with no real responsibilities, I always questioned my own authenticity. I have travelled, done extreme sports, spent many nights chasing "authenticity". I have completely enjoyed the ride with no regrets, however, I always felt incomplete.  Now, was it because I was trying to be something I wasn't? No. Have I let the opinions of others, my environment, and what I thought I "should" be pull me from my own authenticity? Unfortunatley, the answer is yes. Back to my authentic self in a minute.

Why Train With Good Form Anyway?

May 16, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

f you've been around fitness for any amount of time then I'm sure you've heard plenty about lifting with good form. Plenty of people rightfully preach about the importance of having good form, the most common reason you hear being about safety. And while I agree that safety is the biggest factor driving you to make sure your form is good, there's another thing I think perfecting your form can help you achieve as well.

Nutrition Products You Need To Try!

May 2, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

Personally, I’m all about minimalism and not wasting money on useless crap. There are a lot of products out there marketed as things you NEED to feel and perform your best and it can be tough finding what is worth it and what is not. I get a lot of questions about protein powder, protein bars, etc. so I put together a little list of things I personally like to consume and things I have found to be helpful to my athletes.

Habits-How To Form Good Ones

Apr 24, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

We hear a lot about habits. I'm sure you've heard at least once before that we're "creatures of habit". Habits are the actions that we perform so often that your brain waits for a trigger to set it off without you actually having to think about doing it. And if you ask me, habits are one of the most helpful things we have. Once something becomes a habit, the actions move to another part of our brain, which clears up more space for thinking in the current moment. Imagine every time you pulled into your driveway at the end of the day you had to consciously think about putting your car in park, and taking off your seat belt, it’s something I do everyday, but it’s not something I ever remember doing, it just kinda happens.

Grit

What is Grit? I have seen it defined so many ways. To me, it is the ancient Chinese Proverb "Fall Down Seven Times, Stand Up Eight".

The Reality Of Concussions With Stone Belzo

Apr 11, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

I had the opportunity to be able to get on my two older brothers podcast called “The Social Klub” to share my story about the battle I faced and still face to this day with my mental health and concussions. For this weeks blog it will be the interview that I had with them. Hopefully my experience can help other people out there who are battling with the same issues.

You Don't Know What You Don't Know

Mar 21, 2022 by Morgan Fontaine

I feel as if there's a stigma in the gym. That asking questions is a bad thing, that not knowing everything when you walk in the gym is something to be embarrassed of. I think one of the biggest things that I try to do, and something we work hard to do at CORE 4, is to create an environment that gets rid of all that.
