"YOUR BODY WON'T GO WHERE YOUR MIND HASN'T BEEN."

I love that quote...

Couldn't tell you who it was from originally but an old workout buddy used to repeat that over and over again during our workouts. The workouts were grueling. So bad that my legs would collapse stepping off the sidewalk on my way back to my car. So was it all BS? A recent study from Stanford University may add some credibility to this.

Stanford University just conducted a study about people having a gene that made them have higher endurance levels than others. So they perform this blood test and accompanying endurance test on a treadmill to get a baseline result. Afterwards they are seperated into two groups. Supposedly these groups were the high endurance and low endurance group respectively. The catch was that the people were picked at random and there was no special gene indicator. Once the test was completed, the people put into the "lower endurance" category performed much worse than their initial attempt and could not match their previous endurance.

Navy Seals have been reported saying that when you feel like you can't give anymore, you've really only given about 40% and you haven't even come close to tapping into your full potential. Men and women pay 100's of thousands of dollars to climb Mt. Everest and get stuck on the mountain. Sherpas walk up and bring them down like it's just another day on the job. Of course it's not as easily done as I just claimed it to be. But there is something to be said about the human mindset. Human beings have accomplished amazing feats of strenght and endurance. Here at CORE 4 one of our very own ran 103 straight miles. The mindset for that is amazing.

The point of all this....our mindset has so much to do with reaching our goals. Find the thing that motivates you the most to drive your results. You can do this!
